Arley Garden Festival celebrating the best of British

Arley Hall

Two British hobbies will be combined at one of Cheshire’s leading summer events.

The Arley Garden Festival – now in its 22nd year – will also include a touch of baking when it returns this weekend (June 25 and 26).

“We are always looking to add new ingredients to the garden festival to ensure it stays fresh for everyone who visits,” said events organiser Helen Begent.

“This year we are set to incorporate baking so hopefully there will be something for everyone.

“We feel the festival is well established in the calendar for garden enthusiasts as well as those visitors who just want a quintessential, English day out.

“We hope to attract as many people as possible and that everyone takes the chance to have a wander around Arley’s gardens as well as the showground itself.”

Arley Bakes will be a series of baking lectures and demonstrations, cookery lessons as well as BBQ tips and techniques.

However, the focus of the Arley Garden Festival will still be all things horticultural.

There will be a magnificent floral marquee and specialist nurseries along with traders selling horticultural accessories.

There will be a gardeners’ question time, a countryside marquee and craftsmen as well as flowerbeds created by local schoolchildren.

Family entertainment will be provided along with live music and a delicious food fair.

Entry to Arley’s award-winning gardens will be included in the ticket price and once again the hall will be decorated with flowers as well as an exhibition by Priestley College.

Dogs are welcome on a lead. The show is open from 10am to 5pm both days.

Tickets will be £16.50 and seniors £14.50. Children under 16 get in free. Entry includes hall and gardens.
