Cheadle-based charity, the Together Trust, is looking for local businesses and community members to take on its annual It’s a Knockout challenge on Saturday 11th June.
The event is a highlight of the Together Trust Family Fun Day, formerly known as the Cheadle Festival, which attracts more than 1,500 visitors each year.
The Together Trust provides specialist education, community care and fostering to young people and adults across the North West.
Based on the TV game show format, It’s a Knockout is a tournament where teams try to outscore opponents by completing various tasks involving foam, water and inflatable obstacles.
The charity is looking for teams between six and ten members over the age of 18 to take part in the tournament.
All proceeds from the event will help to pay for specialist equipment, therapy services, trips and activities for young people and families with a range of physical disabilities, learning difficulties and complex needs.
Entering a team costs £595 and funds may be raised via sponsorship or fundraising activities. Last year’s competition drew in a large crowd of spectators who supported competitors as they completed the giant obstacle course.
Contestants can get creative by making their own team t-shirts and costumes, and for more competitive participants, there is a trophy up for grabs if they win.
Julie Williams, Event Fundraiser for the Together Trust, said, “The tournament remains a staple for the Together Trust Fun Day and attracts huge crowds of people who come to see contestants take on the course in their crazy costumes.
“Whether you’re a group of friends looking for a fun activity this summer or a business wanting to do a team building exercise, the It’s a Knockout tournament is a brilliant way to bond as a group, while supporting a local charity.”
