Beechwood Cancer Care Centre will be holding an open day and BBQ for members of the public on Saturday, July 30, as part of the legacy from the charity’s successful Silver Wing Appeal.
The Silver Wing Appeal raised £120,000 thanks to the people of Stockport and was set up to mark Beechwood’s 25th anniversary of care in the community.
The new wing will be named the Allen Whittaker Silver Wing after former CEO Allen Whittaker, who died in April.
Now, thanks to the appeal, Beechwood has been extended to enhance the patient experience, and that of their loved ones, as well as extending community facilities and a new charity shop.
The centre, on Chelford Grove, is now opening its doors so people can see the work they do to support people living with cancer and their family and friends.
It will be open between 2pm and 4pm, with a BBQ, bouncy castle, games, face painting, music, toys, a bar and much more.
Regular tours of the building will also be conducted.
