Beechwood Cancer Care Centre holding annual Butterfly Ball

Guests at last year's Butterfly Ball

Beechwood Cancer Care Centre is hoping to raise thousands of pounds at its annual Butterfly Ball next month.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 24, at the Principal Manchester – formerly The Palace Hotel – in the city centre in aid of the Stockport charity.

Last year almost £50,000 was raised at the ball with auction prizes from VIP concert tickets to a golf day – and it is hoped that this target will be met again this year.

Angela Gray, fundraising manager for Beechwood, said: “The Butterfly Ball is always a fantastic night. It is a chance to get dressed up, enjoy some great food and dance the night away, while also supporting a charity that helps people across Greater Manchester through difficult times in their lives. Please come along.”

The event runs from 7pm until 1am with tickets at £55, including a three-course meal and entertainment from The Diane Shaw Band and special guests.

The night will be hosted by Key103 host and Beechwood patron Mike Toolan and is sponsored by Brown Shipley, Eventures, Didsbury Magazine and Pareto.

Beechwood supports people who are living with cancer and other illnesses as well as their family and carers, including counselling sessions, complimentary therapies and group workshops.
