This is the moment a bike is stolen from outside a shop in Stockport.

The mystery man sneaks up to Craig’s Barbers in Heaton Moor in broad daylight before riding off on the bike belonging to a customer.

Owner Craig Goldrick said: “I was having dinner in the cellar and before I knew it everyone in the shop ran towards Heaton Moor Road to chase after him.

“There is CCTV in the cellar so I checked it out and couldn’t believe his cheek.”

The theft happened at about 2pm on Thursday, March 25.

Anyone who knows the man or has information should call police on 101.

Public Meeting

Stockport MP Ann Coffey has organised a public meeting to address residents’ concerns about crime in the area.

It will take place at the Heaton Moor United Church on Stanley Road at 7pm on Tuesday, April 5.

Ann says on her website: “Several local residents have been in touch with me to share their concerns about a number of recent burglaries in the Heatons.

“I raised these concerns with the Chief Inspector of Stockport police division and have requested that the police organise a meeting with the local community to discuss what action they are taking in response to these crimes.”

Police have responded, saying: “We have made burglary in the Heatons our new priority that will be discussed at the next Tactical Co-ordination Group meeting.

“Before that we will be mounting proactive work to combat the issue. This will involve a range of overt and covert police tactics, engagement with the community by the Neighbourhood Beat Officers and PCSO.”
