Bramhall And Woodford Rotary Club is, once again, holding the Bramhall Park Duck Race and Family Fun Day and this year it will be held at Bramhall Park on Sunday May 15th.
The Club is very pleased to announce that Angela Beer, which is Cheshire’s premier ladies fashion store stocking designer fashion from around the world but located in the heart of Bramhall, have agreed to sponsor this event along with Barclays Bank plc.
Also supporting us this year are Reeds Rains Estate Agents based in Bramhall, and Cadassist whose Managing Director Tony Reece said “We’ve been based in Bramhall for the last 25 years and our clients and course delegates love coming here, so we’re really happy to get involved in the Bramhall Duck Race.”
Even though Brammall Hall will still be closed in May due to restorative Grant work being undertaken the Park will be open for our usual Fun Day.
Last year we had hundreds of families turn up on the day many of whom used our new DUCK BUS Park & Ride service. So this year the Club will, once again, have this facility running throughout the day between Bramhall Village (Pizza Express) and the Park. Track it with the app on our website (www.bwrotary.org) and then look out for the yellow DUCK BUS.
Starting at 11.00am, there will be a variety of duck races to enter and there will be speciality races with local celebrities and businesses getting involved by decorating large rubber ducks, who will go beak to beak in the river. There will also be a special challenge race this year. As well as Duck Racing with some fabulous prizes for the winners there will be many sideshows a bouncy castle, games, singers, dancing groups and craft stalls along with ImagineFM and much more. This year we will have the Chinese Lion Dance, a demonstration of Krav Maga (real-life self defence), a Tug-Of-War Challenge and Shetland Pony Rides!
The Bramhall & Woodford Rotary Club will be hosting the final of the Great Bramhall Bake Off and holding a third Junior Schools Choir competition following the success of previous years.
We have decided that money raised will be shared between the Francis House Children’s Hospice which is based in Didsbury, and is the only local Children’s Hospice in this area. caring for children with a short life expectancy and other Rotary charities.
This year will be bigger and better than ever and entry is still free but please enter a duck in a race for just a pound.
