Young golfer Max Gilsenan is following in the footsteps of his dad James at Chorlton Golf Club.

In 2015 James enjoyed great success in shooting a new course record of 63 and winning the President’s Trophy after a marathon 36-hole play-off.

At the same time James’s four-year-old son Max was just getting a taste for golf as he enjoyed junior coaching at Chorlton.

Now after 12 months James has continued his long line of ‘major’ successes by winning the coveted Captain’s Trophy at Chorlton.

And success looks to be firmly in the Gilsenan genes as Max, now five, has seen the coaching lessons pay off as he won a junior golf competition at the North West Golf Academy at Hart Common to give great joy to himself and the Gilsenan family.
