Stockport rider Christian Iddon is looking forward to getting back on track ahead of the 2016 MCE British Superbike campaign, aboard his brand new Tyco BMW S1000RR as a busy test schedule approaches for him and the Team.
Former multiple Supermoto Champion Iddon starts a busy programme in the next few weeks by heading to Circuito De Cartagena in Southern Spain for four days testing amongst a variety of other BSB teams, as they look to get away from freezing UK temperatures and emulate something more akin to the British summer.
Christian will then move further South to the BMW Camp at Circuito De Almeria for a further three days preparation towards the forthcoming season.
“I can’t wait to finally get on the TYCO BMW. The winter has been as long as ever and I just want to get to work with the bike and the team now,” said Iddon, a former World Superbike rider, Christian.
“The first few days for me will just be about getting back up to speed as it’s been a long time off a bike, but from then on I hope I can give some valuable feedback and start to tailor the bike to my liking.
“I already know it’s a great base having seen it on track and knowing the results from last year so I’m just looking forwards to getting out in the Spanish sun and feeling it for myself.”
Iddon, and team-mate Michael Laverty, will kickstart his season for real on April 8-10 when they visit Silverstone, competing on the famous 3.6-mile GP circuit that also hosts the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix.
Iddon took a fine 4th place in Race 2 in 2015, after Qualifying 3rd on the grid, and will be looking forward to returning to the Northants venue to get the new campaign underway.
