Stockport’s Christian Iddon claimed second fastest overall in the latest official MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park, in Cheshire.
Former World Superbike rider Iddon heads to his ‘home’ race at the Cheshire parkland track in good spirits, after he claimed his first BSB podium in the previous round at Silverstone, backing it up with a second later that day.
The Tyco BMW rider enjoyed a positive test at the Cheshire track, claiming the second fastest time late in the day.
Idol said: “It was a positive end to the day. We’d been quick all day but it wasn’t as easy as it looked.
“We’ve found a good base to work from next week [at Oulton Park], we’ve learnt a lot of lessons, it’s been a really important test.”
Odeon’s team-mate, Michael Laverty topped the opening session of the day, despite having a fall that brought the session to a slightly early end.
The BSB Championship rumbles in to Oulton Park on April 30 with Iddon in action during two races around the venue’s International layout on Monday, May 2.
