Stockport Council has closed its museums and libraries in line with government advice on coronavirus.
The following museums are now closed until further notice:
- Air Raid Shelters
- Bramall Hall
- Chadkirk Chapel
- Hat Works
- Staircase House
- Stockport Museum
- Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery

Manchester City Council has also announced a number of closures.
No library in the city will open later than 5pm for the foreseeable future and several facilities have closed or are closing completely. These include:
- Barlow Moor Library
- Burnage Library
- Miles Platting
- Moss Side Powerhouse
- Northernden Library
- Fallowfield Library
- New Moston Community Library
