Sale businesswoman to showcase digital talent

Nichola Howard

A South Manchester businesses woman is partnering a new MediaCityUK expo to showcase the wealth of talent in the creative, digital and media industries across the region.

Naomi Timperley, from Sale, a digital expert that runs Coo Digital, amongst many other projects, is partnering with #MediaCityExpo to put a spotlight on how we should all embrace digital technology and will also be hosting a ‘Women in Tech’ debate on the day.

Joining Naomi at the free expo, on Wednesday, May 18, between 8am and 4pm, which is expecting 500 visitors and up to 50 stands, will be leading organisations from Microsoft to Macclesfield-based Matmi, young entrepreneurs, and women who are breaking down barriers to become leaders in tech.

Naomi said: “With an ever changing business landscape, businesses need to be embracing digital technology.

“MediaCityExpo will be highlighting some of what digital technology can bring to a business and I am proud to be hosting a discussion on women in tech. This is something that is a passion of mine and is the responsibility of all IT stakeholders, from government to small businesses, to take action now to encourage the uptake of STEM subjects by girls at school and university.

“It is important to remember that technology touches every aspect of human life, and for its future success we must ensure that both men and women are aware of the exciting and diverse career paths available.”

Event organiser Nichola Howard, from Launch Events NW, is passionate about the work organisations across the region do and wants to give them a platform at #MediaCityExpo so they can help support business growth in the new digital world in Greater Manchester.

She said: “It is great to have Naomi on board, along with all the other great speakers and exhibitors. Greater Manchester is the second largest hub for creative and digital content across Europe, after London, and I want the #MediaCityExpo to really highlight this by showing off the skills in the north and proving there is life outside of London.”
