Two community drop-in advice sessions are being held following the June floods in Stockport.

Stockport Council, the Environment Agency and United Utilities will be holding a meeting in Offerton on Tuesday, July 12, between 4pm and 7pm at Warren Wood Primary School, Turnstone Lane.

The Bramhall/Hazel Grove meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 19, between 4.30pm and 7.30pm at Hazel Grove High School.

The sessions will aim to give information and advice on support available and answer residents’ queries about flooding.

Residents can attend either of the meetings.

The council is already supporting residents with a grant of £300 per household, in addition to a 100% council tax freeze for up to four months, which will be available to households that have been internally flooded.

Councillor Sheila Bailey, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Housing, said: “The council wants to make sure that our local residents and businesses are fully recovered as soon as possible, and I would encourage those affected by the floods to attend the community drop-in sessions to learn more about the support available.”
