East Cheshire Hospice plea to businesses

Businesses in east Cheshire are being offered a chance to be part of one of Manchester’s high-profile sporting events.

The Great Manchester Run on May 22 attracts the biggest field in Europe for a 10km event and East Cheshire Hospice is hoping to attract a top business sponsor for this year’s race.

“It’s a fabulous event with an incredible atmosphere,” said Hospice Event Manager Jessica Ruth.

“It’s a great opportunity for a business to put itself in the spotlight in front of a huge street and TV audience.”

Among the 40,000 expected runners, the hospice fundraising team has set a goal of attracting their largest team to date with around 200 runners taking part in Team ECH, each runner pledging to raise a minimum of £150 for the Hospice.

The event has raised almost £200,000 in the last five years for the hospice and is well supported by both individual runners and corporate teams every year.

How to get involved

Any businesses interested in supporting the event can contact Jessica or any member of the fundraising team on 01625 433477.

For those wishing to pound the streets, a limited number of Team ECH runner places are now available for a £30 entry fee – cheaper than the normal entry fee.

That fee will be refunded if runners raise £250 or more. And those already with their own place can still join the Hospice team by registering on the hospice website.
