Eurowings announces new route from Manchester Airport to Salzburg

Eurowings flies to Cologne, Dusseldorf and Hamburg from Manchester

German airline Eurowings will fly from Manchester Airport to Salzburg this winter.

The low-cost carrier will launch the twice weekly service to the Austrian city from December 2017.

Salzburg is famous for being the backdrop to the Sound of Music and will provide passengers with a gateway to some of the Alps’ best ski resorts.

Eurowings currently flies to Cologne, Dusseldorf and Hamburg from Manchester all year round.

Ivan Orec, from Eurowings, said: “We are pleased to announce new two-weekly service from Salzburg to Manchester.

“Flights on the new route will operate every Monday and Friday starting from December.

“On this route, with our low fares, we offer our passengers free of charge transport of their ski equipment.”

The service will operate on Mondays and Fridays until March 23, 2018, on an A320 aircraft with fares starting from £54.99 each way.

Stephen Turner, Commercial Director for Manchester Airport, said: “It’s great to see Eurowings expanding their presence here at Manchester with the introduction of this new route.

“We have seen this year that the ski market continues to grow and we’re confident this new route to Salzburg will prove hugely popular with our passengers looking to take advantage of the great ski resorts in the Alps.”
