Creative events business The fresh Group has teamed up with industry charity Meeting Needs to provide Stockport charity Seashell Trust with vital funds.

The 80-strong fresh team, based in Cheadle, have supported Seashell Trust since 2013 through production of their annual charity ball, general design and marketing support and fundraising.

Meeting Needs is events industry charity. Set up by key figures in the UK meetings and events industry, Meeting Needs provides support to children and communities worldwide, raising funds through the event industry to distribute to small charities that may not otherwise have access to funding.

By becoming a charity partner of Meeting Needs, fresh have been able to work with Seashell Trust to apply for funding specifically to buy Sensit Huggy chairs, which benefit children with cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders and autism.

Seashell Trust supports children and young adults with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs from across the UK at their outstanding school, college and care homes in Cheadle Hulme.

Dominic Tinner, head of fundraising at Seashell Trust, said: “Our charity is dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities.

“The team at fresh have been committed partners and supporters of ours and this latest support they’ve brought via Meeting Needs has enabled us to purchase some much needed specialist sensory chairs, which will make a real difference to the children.”

Patrick Howells, MD of The fresh Group, added: “Meeting Needs is a great charitable endeavour and something every key player in the industry should get behind.

“Being able to increase our fundraising and support of Seashell through partnership with Meeting Needs has provided real support directly to those who need it most.”

Lene Corgan, executive committee member of Meeting Needs, added: “We are delighted to have The fresh Group on board as a charity partner and to be able to work with them to support worthy causes such as Seashell Trust.”
