Health technology provider enjoys boom year

Norman Niven, founder of telmenow.com

Stockport health and care technology provider telmenow.com has celebrated its first year anniversary by moving to new offices and by taking on new members of staff.

The firm has tripled its headcount and moved to the Stockport Business and Innovation Centre in Reddish.

It has also increased its monthly website visitors to 60,000 per month since its launch in May 2015.

The company provides technology that helps people live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

The telmenow.com website sells products that help people proactively manage their health and care needs.

They include personal or home safety devices – such as GPS tracking devices and nuisance call blockers – as well as solutions designed specifically to assist sufferers of specific medical conditions, including dementia day clocks, epilepsy smartwatches and blood glucose meters.

“The response to the website has been phenomenal,” said Norman Niven, founder of telmenow.com.

“It’s fantastic that we’re all living longer but we have to face the realities that come with that, namely the spiralling costs of care as we grow older.

“Our products enable people to proactively manage their own care and to remain independent for as long as possible.

“We’re also there for relatives who want to know that their loved ones have everything they need to keep them safe at home.

“Our new offices and expanded team have given us a strong platform for growth and we look forward to building on this in 2016.”
