Hospice makes appeal for bottle donations

St Ann’s Hospice is appealing for donations of bottles and gift sets, to help raise money for hospice patients.

St Ann’s will be holding two family-friendly summer fairs at its Heald Green and Little Hulton sites on Sunday, July 21, from 12 noon to 3pm, and is hoping that local people might be able to help out by donating unwanted items they can sell at the events.

Eamonn O’Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s, explained: “Our summer fairs are always incredibly popular, and our bottle tombola is always a real hit with visitors.  We’d love donations of any unopened bottles for use at the fairs, including drinks, toiletries, make up and so on.

“We’re also looking for unopened gift sets that we can sell on the day, so if you have some that are still hiding at the back of your cupboards from Christmas, we’d love to take them off your hands.

“We can put them to great use, find them a new home, and they’ll help us raise money to help our patients too.”

Donations can be dropped off at the hospice’s sites in Meadowsweet Lane (off Peel Lane) in Little Hulton, St Ann’s Road North in Heald Green, Stockport, and at The Neil Cliffe Centre in Wythenshawe Hospital.

The hospice’s summer fairs will include a range of stalls and refreshments, as well as face-painting, tombolas and raffles, and lots more fun activities for the whole family.

Eamonn added: “We are always looking for donated items and unwanted gifts as we can use them in lots of ways, whether that’s in fundraising raffles or fairs, or to be sold in our hospice shops across Greater Manchester or online.

“The money raised from donated items helps us to care for the thousands of local patients and their families we support each year, so do make a huge difference.  Thanks very much for your support.”
