The Indian Tiffin Room has opened its second restaurant, in Manchester city centre.

The Indian street food restaurant, which was started by Srini K Sundaram and Suresh Raje Urs in 2013 in Cheadle, Stockport, is now open on First Street.

A message on the ITR Facebook site read: “Hello all, Finally we have launched our second restaurant in First Street, Manchester. Thank you for your continued support and hope to see you soon.”

The restaurant takes inspiration from Indian ‘street food’ – the bite-sized food from roadside vendors and markets.

Their website says: “What we bring you is a concept that simply does not exist in the North West at present. We offer authentic dishes such as ‘Dosa’ (rice pancakes), ‘Thali’ (mini buffet on a plate), an array of Chaats (finger licking good!), Kebabs, Indo-Chinese food and much more.

“We have a fully stocked bar offering a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks.

“Our menu is healthy, less influenced by heavily flavored spices but is filled with the authentic flavours of India.”
