Sharon Johnstone wins the ladies' race at the Hatters Half Marathon

The second Hatters Half Marathon taking in the roads and trails of Stockport and nearby districts, took place at the weekend.

James Scott-Buccleuch was the winner of the Hatters Half Marathon

James Scott-Buccleuch from Stockport Harriers took the men’s title with a winning time of 1hr 16mins, and Sharon Johnstone, from Wilmslow Running Club, took the honours for the ladies finishing in 1hr 28mins.

Rob Downs (Wilmslow RC) finished as runner-up for the second year running, with Paul Brooks from Stockport Harriers completing the male podium.

Kirsty Johnson (Glossopdale Harriers) finished second in the ladies’ event with Carol Paxton (unattached) finished third.

Spokesman Ian Brown said: “The whole event , promoted and organised by Stockport County Supporters Co-operative , was a spectacular success, and showcased Stockport magnificently.”
