Just a month until the Manchester Midnight Walk

There is just over a month until the Manchester Midnight Walk – St Ann’s Hospice’s flagship fundraising event.

The party atmosphere on April 27 will be kicked off with a zumba warm-up from 9pm.

Local legends Throb Lovelace & The Pitts will also be playing all the best cheesy disco hits to get everyone dancing.

At midnight, walkers will set off on the 10km sponsored stroll from Manchester Cathedral, passing many of Manchester’s famous landmarks along the way.

Organisers are urging anyone wishing to enter and join in the fun to do so quickly, as places are booking up fast.

The event has pulled in crowds every year since it began, raising over £2m for the hospice in that time.

Eamonn O’Neal, chief executive at St Ann’s, said: “The walk is such an important part of our annual fundraising calendar, and we can’t wait to see hundreds of people from across Greater Manchester gathered together to remember loved ones and raise money for our patients.

“As a charity, we really do rely on the generosity of local people in order to be able to carry on providing our specialist care, so I’d ask people from across the city to consider taking part, if they’ve not already signed up.

“You don’t even need to have a connection to the hospice, you simply need to want to come and take part in a really fun event, that will ultimately make a huge difference to the lives of local people.”

Many walkers take part in memory of lost loved ones, whilst others join in simply for a night of fun and fundraising.
