Ken Dodd and Anita Harris star at Stockport Plaza

 Two of the nation’s best-loved stars appear at The Stockport Plaza in two events not to be missed.

On Thursday, April 28, at 2.30pm Anita Harris ,who has had a breathtaking career spanning over 50 years, joins us for An Afternoon with Anita Harris.

Anita, 73, has been a film star, television star, graced the top of the pop charts, become a pantomime legend as Peter Pan, starred in Cats in the West End and featured in seven Royal Command Performances.

She has never stopped performing and has worked alongside legendary names in the world of entertainment such as Harry Secombe, Phil Silvers, Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, magician David Nixon and Clive Dunn.

On Saturday, April 30, 88-year-old Ken Dodd, one of Britain’s funniest comedians and a patron of The Stockport Plaza, takes centre stage at 7pm.

Plaza manager Ted Doad said: “Ken is a comedy legend, icon and national treasure who has been entertaining audiences for a lifetime of happiness and laughter.

Come and enjoy his famous ‘Happiness Show’ and you’ll be absolutely discumknockerated – that’s Knotty Ash for ‘over the moon’ – by a truly tattifelarius (fun-filled) evening of laughter and songs presented by a comedy genius.
