The 2018 Vernon Building Society Community Award winners

There are just a few days left to apply for a share of £10,000 in the Vernon Building Society Community Awards.

Not-for-profit groups in Stockport have until Saturday, August 17, to submit an application.

Each of the 14 shortlisted groups will receive a minimum of £250, up to a maximum of £1,500 after a public vote.

Vernon marketing assistant Adam Pemberton said: “I am excited to see how the 14 local organisations plan to use the funding we have on offer.

“We look at applications from all groups regardless of their size, so I recommend that all good causes in Stockport apply.”

Organisations must be based in, or benefit, the postcode areas SK1, SK2, SK3, SK4, SK5, SK6, SK7, SK8 or SK12.

Applications supporting individuals or individual sponsorships, political activities, promotion of religious causes, activities that benefit animals or commercial enterprises won’t be considered.

Organisations can apply online via the Vernon Building Society website at  www.thevernon.co.uk/apply or by filling out an application form in one of the six local branches.
