Monty Python’s Spamalot comes to NK Theatre Arts

Monty Python's Spamalot is at NK Theatre Arts

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table will be paying a visit to Stockport as the Monty Python Musical Spamalot is performed for the first time in Greater Manchester at the Romiley Forum since the end of the professional tour.

NK Theatre Arts are presenting the production which is based on the cult film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and will be performing from September 21-14.

The show features all of the legendary Monty Python characters including The Lady of the Lake, the (almost) invincible Black Knight together with those French Taunter’s and The Knights of Ni!

Darren Stannage, who is playing the role of King Arthur, said: This has been such a fun show to take part in with laughs galore throughout the production.

“From the moment we started reading through the script to the final rehearsals, there have been so many times when we have simply been in stitches putting Spamalot together.

“Everyone really has had to let go of their inhibitions and just enjoy taking part in such a unique show.

“For me personally it has been the most fun I have ever had in a production and to be interacting with Eric Idle, who makes a special guest performance playing the part of God on a big screen, is amazing and we can not wait for opening night.”

The production is being produced by Hannah Gorst, who landed the Best Choreographer gong at last years Manchester Musical Awards:

Hannah said: “To do justice to Spamalot you need a cast with bags of talent energy and enthusiasm to make sure that all of the Monty Python silliness and fun is able to be translated to the audience. We have had that in abundance with such a dedicated team.

“We promise anyone who enjoyed the film and loves the Monty Python humour will have a brilliant night out, and anyone who loves musicals will also have a great time as the songs in the show are absolutely fantastic.

“We have put together some hilarious singing and dancing for what really is a unique piece of Musical Theatre.

“We are proud to be one of the first places in the UK to be performing Spamalot since its general release and the very first in Greater Manchester.”

Tickets for the show can be purchased online from The Forum Theatre in Romiley
