Nigel Ogden concert raises cash for Beechwood

More than 150 people attended an organ concert at Woodley Methodist Church in aid of Beechwood Cancer Care Centre.

The concert, with Nigel Odgen from BBC Radio 2’s The Organist Entertains, raised a grand total of £1,519.50 from ticket sales and a raffle on the night – Friday, February 26.

The programme included a Franz Lehar classic, the best on Lennon and McCartney and a tribute to James Horner – with some of the tunes played being specifically chosen for members of the congregation that have been affected by cancer.

Phil Taylor, who organised the event, said: “We know how important the work is that Beechwood does so I am delighted at how much money has been raised and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
