Orbit’s No 1 St Anns’ development attracts two new major tenants

Companies move into Orbit's No 1 St Anns

Two major organisations have chosen to take substantial office space at Orbit Developments’ prestigious No 1 St. Ann Street in Manchester City Centre.

Private Rented Sector and Urban Regeneration specialist, Sigma Capital Group plc, have committed to 2,391 sq ft of office space and Environmental and Engineering specialists Idom Merebrook are leasing 2,548 sq ft on the second floor.

The PRS arm of Sigma is currently managing the development of over 900 new homes across Greater Manchester and Liverpool in a joint venture worth over £100m.

The AIM listed company’s relocation to 1 St Ann Street provides the business with additional workspace to facilitate future growth as the PRS market in Manchester continues to mature. The specialist urban regeneration area of the business works closely with local authorities and private sector companies, enabling them to work together more efficiently; most recently, projects have been undertaken for Salford City Council and Liverpool City Council.

Matthew Townson at Sigma Capital Group plc commented: ‘It is an exciting time for Manchester, so when the decision was made to relocate our office we knew we had to stay in the City Centre.  No.1 St Ann’s has provided us with a well located self-contained floor that we have been able to tailor to our precise requirements.”

Idom Merebrook specialise in providing bespoke teams of engineers and scientists to provide technical expertise and insight on projects being implemented across Europe in varying sectors such as nuclear, aviation and construction.

The company first opened serviced offices in Manchester city centre in 2013 having identified the region’s potential growth opportunities and to support their existing North-Western client base.

Since then, IM have based many of their services in Manchester necessitating a move to larger premises within the city centre.

Technical Director at Idom Merebrook, David Spacey said: “I am delighted to be leading the relocation to larger premises to accommodate our expanding team.

“The convenient central location of our new office will allow us to maintain the excellent service to our existing and new clients, as well as continuing to develop and enhance our overall offer”.

Orbit are one of the most established and successful commercial developers in the North West with a portfolio of over eight million sq ft, combining 230 individual schemes. These include 200 office buildings, 38 retail, 40 industrial and over 2,000 tenants.

Adam Jackson, Senior Leasing Surveyor at Orbit Developments commented: “The City Centre of Manchester continues to attract the best talent from across the region.  We are very happy to have been able to assist growth businesses such as Idom Merebrook and Sigma Capital Group with their workspace needs.

“The final floor remaining at No 1. St Ann’s Street totals 2,600 sq ft and with significant current interest we hope to be welcoming a final occupier the building shortly.”
