A pamper day at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre has raised thousands of pounds for the Stockport charity.

The annual event, at the Bridgehall headquarters, saw £3200 raised from ticket sales and donations.

The day included one main therapy, a mini therapy, relaxation sessions, the chance to buy products and lunch.

Fundraising manager Angela Gray said: “I am delighted with the amount of money that has been raised for Beechwood.

“It was such a wonderful day, seeing so many people socialising and relaxing.

“We could not have done it without all the therapists, who give their time for free, and our Beechwood volunteers, so a big thank you to them, and Sainsbury’s Cheadle for helping towards the buffet and to everyone who supported the event by attending – here’s to next year.”

Pictured above is Julie Gill, a holistic and beauty therapist based in Marple, who volunteers for Beechwood every week and Margaret Hughes, 82, who enjoyed a hot stone massage.

Julie said: “I have been volunteering for Beechwood for nine years. I absolutely love it, it is such a warm place to be and it is a great feeling to be able to help.”
