Friends revved up to revive Timperley garage

Ben Ray and Martin Stone

Two friends have turned their passion for cars into a business by reviving a garage in Timperley.

Ben Ray and Martin Stone – who have each 20 years’ experience in the industry and are long-time friends, are now the proud owners of Ridgeway Motors.

The business on Ridgeway Road, which has been closed for six months after being family-run by the previous owners for 50 years, has been revived by the pair,  who have both grown up in the area and want to see the garage continue to trade in their community.

Ben, 40, said: “We are really excited to go into business together, we always knew that we would make a good partnership and now was just the right time to do that.

“We have both grown up in the area – and wanted to have a small business that serves the community that it is in and that we have always been a part.

“We are offering fast, professional and reliable services and I think what is really important is that we really do really care about our customers and their cars.

“Ridgeway Motors has been a fixture in the area for such a long time and we hope to continue in the same way.”

Ben, who specialises in tyre and exhaust fitting, and Martin, 41, a car parts specialist, will be offering services, MoTS, welding, tyre fitting, brakes, suspension and exhaust repairs, diagnostics, wheel refurbishment and much more.

Martin added: “The site is ideally located to service the surrounding areas and we offer free car collection and delivery as part of the service. We’re passionate about cars, and we bring that passion to the work we do.”
