Beechwood Cancer Care Centre has been chosen as the charity of the year for Sainsbury’s Cheadle Royal.

It is the second year in a row that the centre on Chelford Grove, Bridgehall, has been voted for by shoppers to be the chosen charity.

Last year more than £3,500 was raised by staff at the store with the support of the customers.

Angela Gray, fundraising manager at Beechwood, said: “We are delighted to be Sainsbury’s chosen charity for the year again and would like to thank all the shoppers and staff at the Cheadle Royal store for their support.

“A great amount was raised last year and we will look forward to hearing about all the fundraising efforts.”

Manager at the store, Michael Broadhurst, added: “Beechwood is such a fantastic local charity so we are excited about raising money for them again. We hope to beat the amount raised last year, and we hope all our customers get behind our challenges.”
