Sale friends rallying for oral cancer charity

The four friends from Sale with their Ford Fiesta

Four intrepid ladies from Sale are on the road trip of a lifetime as they drive across France in an old banger for charity.

Natalie Golden, a dental hygienist, is joined by her sister Janet Ainsworth, a learning and development manager, driving instructor Karen Statham and PA Ruth McDermott.

The group, all in their 40s, have already driven from Sale to France and will now begin their 700-mile rally from Saint-Quentin to Monte Carlo in just three days to raise money for The Ben Walton Trust, an oral cancer charity.

They have been helped along the way by acts of kindness.

Their James Bond-themed car, a 2001 Ford Fiesta, was donated for free by Melanie Mayoh from Wythenshawe, while it was made roadworthy by Cross Street Garage in Sale.

To donate visit the groups Just Giving page or text  NJKR 77 £5 to 70070.
