Seashell Trust students given luxury send-off at prom

Seashell Trust college students celebrated their graduation with a glamorous prom.

The class of 2018 travelled to their prom at the Hilton Hotel Manchester Airport with style in a variety of luxury vehicles including Bentleys and Rolls-Royces.

Students graduate the Seashell Trust-run Royal College Manchester aged around 22 years old and all have complex learning disabilities and communication difficulties.

They celebrated the time they had spent together at the Cheadle Hulme charity with a disco and buffet as well as special certificate presentations by Head of College Katherine Corey for each of the departing students.

Lizzie McGahey, Royal College Manchester transitions co-ordinator, said: “The students had an absolutely fantastic time celebrating all of their successes over their time with us at the Seashell Trust and we are delighted with the outcomes for our leavers with many transitioning into supported living and supported employment.

“A special thank you goes to Lyn Barber and Sabhia Ahmed, who volunteered their time and helped organise the event; as well as Marian Fahy and Katherine Watson for organising the parents and carers meal.

“Thank you to Going Dutch Florist, The Hilton Hotel and DJ Callum Goulden from Unit One Entertainment.

“Finally, a huge thank you to all of our College leavers for all of their hard work over their time with us at College, we wish them all the best for the future.”

Seashell Trust is grateful to Taphael Montrose from Enterprise Rent a Car, Bentley Manchester, Together Money, and BK Executive cars for donating cars on the night.
