September musical double at Stockport Plaza

ELO Again – September 22

The ELO tribute brings you all the hits from Jeff Lynne and his band.

“ELO Again really do give you a dramatic taste of what the classic ELO were like in the heyday,” says Stockport Plaza manager Ted Doan.

“The whole experience is a professional re-enactment of an ELO concert with a great sound reproduction light show and visual effects.

“Live cellos and the infamous blue violin make this show the best ELO tribute out there and certainly the most musically authentic.

“Their version of Mr Blue Sky is full of passion and fervour and will have the whole auditorium jumping to its feet, dancing, clapping and singing well into the night.

“You will revel in ELO’s unique symphonic rock style and hear some of the most unforgettable classic rock and pop songs of our generation.”

Swing Time – September 27

This big band evening of vintage swing celebrates classic songs from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller and many more, performed by the famous Five Star Swing multi-instrumentalists and singers.

As seen on Children in Need and Dame Vera Lynn’s charity ball, the show is led by band leader Chris Smith Jr, composer and arranger for the BBC Radio Big Band and a former composer for Herb Miller Big Band.

The band’s local double bass player, Ken Marley, says: “Fans have enjoyed this “feel-good” style of music for generations – following our extensive UK tour I’m excited to be bringing the sound of our big band brass, saxes, rhythm and vocalists back home.”
