Stockport taekwondo star Holly Kelly to represent Team GB at the European Cadet Championships

Stockport taekwondo star Holly Kelly has been selected to represent Team GB at the European Cadet Championships in Romania in September.

This will be the third time the 14-year-old has represented her country at a major championships, having represented GB at last year’s World Championships in South Korea, where she reached the last 16, and the European Championships in France, where she won bronze.

Holly has won medals at some of the biggest international competitions of the year, including gold at the Dutch Open, silver at the Spanish Open and bronze at the World Taekwondo Presidents Cup in Germany.

The talented teen, who trains at Jeon-sa Taekwondo in Stockport and East Didsbury, has her sights set on topping the podium this time around.

Coach Nick Brinklow said: “Holly is an extremely talented athlete, she trains hard and is committed to being the best.

“She is one of the countries most exciting young prospects in Olympic Taekwondo and has a big future in the sport. She is looking forward to getting out to Romania and has her sights set on gold.”
