Vernon Building Society wants your photographs

The Vernon Jubilee calendar of Stockport photos

Vernon Building Society are looking for the best pictures of the local area to feature in their 2017 calendar which will be sold to raise money for their community Jubilee Fund.

The stunning images captured in their 2016 calendar helped to raise over £1,100 for local causes.

To enter the competition photographers just need to sign-up and upload their image to the Vernon’s Flickr Group with a brief description of where in Stockport it was taken.

Alternatively, entries can be emailed to photographycomp@thevernon.co.uk.

After the deadline of September 19, 016, the Vernon will then choose their eight favourite images to feature in the 2017 calendar.

Mike Hanson, Chief Executive of the Vernon, said: “Our ‘Celebrating Stockport’ calendar will showcase some of the fantastic scenery, iconic buildings and structures in the area which our 2016 calendar captured wonderfully.

By selling the calendar we hope to raise a significant sum of money which will all be put back into the community through our Jubilee Fund.”

The calendar will be released in November and made available from all branches of Vernon Building Society.

All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go to the Jubilee Fund, which this year will have awarded over £50,000 to more than 70 local charity and community groups since its launch in 2012.

Finalists for this year’s Jubilee Fund will be published in the Stockport Express next week.

All photographers will be credited for their work.
