Young footballers were out in force for the Chrome Motors Soccer Tournament in Macclesfield, held as part of the Chrome in the Community scheme.
Competitive games throughout the day saw teams enjoying themselves and demonstrating good sportsmanship.
Glenavan, River Juniors, Mavericks and Shots reached the under-nines semi-finals with Shots beating Glenavan 2-1 in the final.
FC Sports beat Fletcher Moss in the first semi-final of the under-nines plate as Cheadle & Gatley beat Barr Hill in the second one. Cheadle & Gatley went on to win the final 2-1.
The under-11s event was won by Stanley Park. The semi-finals of the cup competition were won by Shots, who beat Cheadle & Gatley 3-0, and Stanley Park who beat Alderley 3-1.
A goalless final was settled by penalties with Stanley Park winning 5-4.
The Plate was also settled on penalties with Lisbon beating Richmond 4-3. The losing semi-finalists were Fletcher Moss and FC Sports.
Chrome Motors expressed thanks to Macclesfield MP David Rutley, who came to watch the soccer tournament, and Macclesfield Mayor, Cllr Alift Harewood-Jones, and her consort Peter Jones.
Chrome Motors Managing Director, Danny Towns, was delighted with the day and very appreciative of the support from the local area.
He said: “This event is just one part of the work that we do in supporting the local community and we very much appreciate the contribution made by other organisations. A massive thank you to all of the players who made it such a great day.”
