Taekwondo trio pass black belt grading with flying colours

Three youngsters achieved their black belts at the United Taekwondo Association (UTA) grading event in Stoke-on-Trent.

Sofia Tzourou, 12, from, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, and Longsight brothers Abdullah Khan, 12, and Adeem Khan, 11, passed  with flying colours.

The talented trio, who train at Jeon-sa Taekwondo Academy in Stockport and Didsbury, put in stand-out performance in front of a grading panel.

They each had to perform various techniques including kicks, strikes, blocks, patterns, self defence, Olympic sparring, destruction and a written test.

Head coach, Master Nick Brinklow, said: “They have all worked extremely hard for this and have shown commitment and determination over the years of training.

“All three excelled on the day and thoroughly deserved the grade. They have a big future in taekwondo and could be potential future Olympians.”
