Vernon Building Society calendar competition open for entries

The 2018 front cover photo of Stockport Marketplace by Norman Wall

The Vernon Building Society is looking for the best photographs taken in and around Stockport for its 2019 calendar.

Running for its seventh year, this competition engages with local people in a unique way and gives the local community the opportunity to have their photos published.

The calendar will then be sold in the Vernon’s six local branches with all proceeds going towards the Community Awards fund, which helps local not-for-profit groups in the Stockport community.

The best photo will win a £75 Amazon voucher and a spot on the front cover of the calendar with the other 12 winners printed inside.

This year the Vernon is giving young people the chance to compete, offering two months of the calendar for people under the age of 18.

Marketing Manager Alexander Deakin said: “The standard of entries has been extremely high over previous years.

“For our 2019 competition we are giving extra consideration towards photographs that show a unique perspective of Stockport and photos that offer a creative twist.”

How to enter

The deadline for submissions is 28th September 2018 and can be submitted by emailing marketing@thevernon.co.uk, visiting the following link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/calendar_comp_2019 or the Vernon’s Flickr page.

Each photograph should be submitted with a title, photographer’s age bracket and contact details.

Additionally, a description for the photograph should be added that may be used on the calendar or social media.
