The Vernon Building Society has revealed the 13 photos that have won a place in its 2019 charity calendar.
The competition gave members of the public and photographers the opportunity to see their photos featured in the high-quality Stockport-themed calendar with the proceeds going to Signpost Stockport for Carers.
A dozen photos have been chosen, one for each month of the year, with the front page going to John Varley’s stunning photo of Reddish Vale Viaduct.
The calendars are currently on sale in each of the Vernon’s six branches for a suggested donation of £5.
This year the Society has decided to donate all the proceeds from the calendar sales to Community Awards finalist Signpost Stockport for Carers selected by competition winner John.
John said: “Thank you for this opportunity to pick the charity from your list – after looking through them I could find plenty of reasons to choose any of them to receive the money raised from the calendar sales.
“But after careful consideration I decided to choose Signpost.
“My wife and daughter have both been carers and I have seen first-hand how this can affect the lives of both the carers and the cared for.”
The Vernon’s Marketing Manager Alex Deakin said: “This year’s calendar has been an absolute success.
“The calendar is a premium product that will provide well-deserved funds for Signpost Stockport for Carers; giving John the opportunity to choose which charity benefits fits with our ethos of giving the local community a big say in how our community funds are allocated.”
