Vernon Building Society to sponsor Stockport Town

The Vernon Building Society is to sponsor Stockport Town for the next three years.

The Vernon is taking three pitchside advertising boards at the club’s Stockport Sports Village ground in Woodley.

Vernon Marketing Director Ian Keeling said: “We’re delighted to continue our support for a further three years.

“The club is extremely well run to a set of values that allows it to nurture local young talent.

“We were particularly impressed with the way it works in harmony with our other partner, Stockport County, giving the players great opportunities for career progression.”

Stockport Town were formed in 2014 and play in the Hallmark Security League.

Chairman Seb Rowe said: “We’d like to thank the Vernon Building Society for their continued support.

“It’s vitally important for a club like ours to attract such reputable businesses and this enables us to fulfil our commitment of giving talented footballers in Stockport the opportunities they deserve.”

The Vernon has been a long-time supporter of Stockport County, who have just entered into a partnership with Stockport Town to give youngsters more playing opportunities.

The Vernon’s Marketing Manager Alex Deakin added: “It is reassuring to know that our sponsorship is helping give talented youngsters in the area the opportunity to develop their football careers.”
