A celebration evening marked the opening of Village Point, the new wedding, event and business venue in Heaton Moor.

The evening brought together celebrities, business owners and others connected to the project to see the finished venue.

The rooms inside Village Point were brought to life with bespoke decorations created by Village Point’s decoration consultants Hagan Hillman, while events company Love Lights the Way also provided some show-stopping lighting.

As well as DJs, there was also some barnstorming live music from the venue’s in house band, The Vice Presidents.

It has taken nine months of intensive work and an investment of over £250,000 to create Village Point from its previous life as The Moor Suite, a function space situated within the former Conservative Club.

The project has been led by father-and-son investment team Stephen and Liam Dillon, who have overseen the transformation of a once neglected 19th century architectural gem into an inspiring and beautifully designed space, providing The Heatons with one of the most exciting venues for private and business use in the North West.

The venue offers three distinct and individually designed spaces – The Ballroom, The Lodge and The Hub – created by Northern Quarter-based NoChintz whose other work has included the refurbishment of Banyan Bar and Kitchen at the Corn Exchange in Manchester.

When entering Village Point visitors are welcomed into the entrance complete with black-and-white chequered tiles and an eye-catching contemporary chandelier.

Stephen Dillon said: “It’s been a labour of love to bring this building back to its former glory and to create our vision of a beautiful and unique venue for The Heatons.

“It was wonderful to see the space come to life at the launch event and to celebrate with all those who have supported us along the way.  We’re looking forward to welcoming many more people through Village Point’s doors over the coming months.”

Now it has opened its doors, Village Point is available for people to book their own events, while The Hub is a business space where freelancers, students and anyone who needs a flexible working environment can hire a dedicated working space on a monthly basis.
