Volunteers needed to work in Beechwood Cancer Care Centre’s charity shops

Beechwood Cancer Care Centre’s volunteers

Volunteers are needed to work in Beechwood Cancer Care Centre’s charity shops.

The shops are located in Bramhall, Edgeley, Heald Green, Woodley and at Beechwood headquarters in Bridgehall, and the retail role will include sorting out donated items; customers service, visual merchandising, gift aid and using the till.

There will be various shifts available throughout the week and no experience is necessary.

Lorraine Fairclough, community and volunteer manager at Beechwood, said: “We welcome all applications for this fun and varied role.

“Our volunteers play such an important part at Beechwood, whether that be at the centre or in our charity shops, each volunteer is unique and valued.

“And our charity shops income provides more than 20% of Beechwood’s income to help us support our patients and their families.”

All are welcome to apply; from school age, through to college, university, retired, for Duke of Edinburgh, work experience, in between employment, or if you just have some spare time on your hands.

Jean Fairhurst, who volunteers for Beechwood, said: “From day one at Beechwood I have never looked back, the post has enabled me to develop my creative interests, by dressing the charity shop windows on a regular basis.

“Working as a volunteer has enriched my life greatly.”

If you would like to join the award winning Beechwood volunteer team contact Lorraine on 0161 476 0384, email volunteering@beechwoodcancercare.co.uk or call into the centre or any of the shops and pick up a volunteer application pack.
