It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Beechwood – with a bonanza of festive activities throughout December.

To start off the celebrations, volunteers from the Stockport charity will be on hand at Sainsbury’s Cheadle Royal from November 20 until December 18, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday selling Christmas cards and other festive gifts.

Beechwood’s Christmas fair will be held on Saturday, November 25, from 10.30am, at its headquarters on Chelford Grove, Bridgehall, with gifts to buy for loved ones including, holly, plants, toys, wrapping paper and cards. There will also be a tombola and the café will be open to buy warm drinks and mince pies.

If you still haven’t made plans for your Christmas party, Beechwood is holding a ‘Deck the Balls’ event on Saturday, December 2, from 7pm until 1am, at The Principal Hotel in Manchester with a three-course meal, entertainment, disco and a photobooth – hosted by Key 103 presenter and Beechwood patron Mike Toolan. Tables of 10 cost £500.

The annual Festival of Lights will be held on Monday, December 4, at 7pm, in Beechwood gardens, hosted by Coronation Street star and Beechwood patron, Sally Dynevor.

The Festival of Lights switch-on is a special way to remember family and friends no longer with us.

Candle bags can be purchased to write a personal message on and placed around the Beechwood tree on the evening.

A Christmas gift and beauty evening will be held on Thursday, December 7, from 7pm-9pm, also at Beechwood, costing £5 and includes a glass of prosecco, with stalls from Clarins, Body Shop and much more.

The final event in the run-up to the big day is the Christmas Carol and Dedication Service on Monday, December 11, from 7pm at St Mary’s in the Market Place in Stockport town centre with music from Affinity and Beechwood choirs. It is free entry and all are welcome
