Stockport Town welcome Daisy Hill to Lambeth Grove this Saturday with eyes on the play-offs.

The two teams met early on in Division One season last year, with Daisy Hill coming out on top in a 2-1 victory last September, and so Calum Sykes’ Lions will be looking to avenge that away defeat with an impressive performance today.

The Lions returned to form in their last two matches following a 4-3 away defeat to Eccleshall 10 days ago, but a 1-0 away win at Chadderton followed by a vital 0-0 draw away to fifth-placed Holker Old Boys on Tuesday night has seem Town return to consecutive clean sheets.

Daisy Hill arrive at Stockport Sports Village on the back of consecutive victories over Litherland REMYCA (2-0) and Atherton LR (4-2) in the league and has seen them rise up to a mid-table position following a stuttering start to the season.

Hill’s trio of joint-managers of Craig Thomas, Marc Thomas and Brian Hart, have seen their side go unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches, winning five of them on they way, and so they will come to SSV looking to carry on that run as their season comes to a close.

Sykes’ Stockport will be looking to secure another vital three points with just a couple of league games remaining, whilst also having an eye on other results this Saturday which could in fact secure themselves a playoff place.

Nathan Neequaye continues to lead the goalscoring charts for Stockport, with Ruben Abreu chipping in in recent weeks taking his tally for the season to nine in all competitions.

Meanwhile Daisy Hill’s Chris Cummins, Daniel Gregory and Alexander McPolin have bagged at least eight goals this season, with Cummins scoring against Remyca and Atherton in the last week.

Kick off at Stockport Sports Village is 3pm. Entry for Adults £5 and Concessions £2.
