Broadcasters Chelsea Norris and Phil Trow joined hundreds of dog lovers and their four-legged friends at a special event in aid of a local charity.
The pair took part in the Paws for St Ann’s sponsored dog walk event in Heaton Park to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice.
Dog owners and pooches took on the 3km walk, with some participants also choosing to enter their canine friends into one of the special dog show competitions, judged by Chelsea and Phil.
Hospice Acting Head of Fundraising, Hannah Saunders, said: “We can’t thank the people – and dogs – that came along to the event enough for their support, and the money raised will help us to continue providing care to local patients.
“Chelsea and Phil were incredibly generous in volunteering their time to come along and to judge the competitions, and we really appreciate the ongoing help they give to St Ann’s.
“Community events like this one are so important to us, and there’s nothing better than seeing so many people gathered together in aid of the patients we support and their families.”
St Ann’s Hospice cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones from across Greater Manchester.
Hannah added: “We’re really looking forward to seeing how much has been raised from the event, so we’re asking anyone who has kindly gathered sponsorship money to return it as soon as possible so we can work out the grand total.”
