Broadcasters Chelsea Norris and Phil Trow will be among dog lovers gathered together for a special event this October in aid of a local charity.
The pair will be joining crowds at the St Ann’s Hospice Paws event which will be taking place in Heaton Park on Sunday, October 8.
The 3km sponsored dog walk, which is suitable for dogs and owners of all shapes and sizes, will see local people and their canine friends gathered together to raise money for the charity, which needs to raise around £16,000 every day to keep providing its services to local patients.
As well as taking part in the walk, participants in the event will be invited to enter their dogs into one of the special dog show competition categories which Chelsea Norris and Phil Trow will be judging on the day.
The event will open at 11.30am with the dog show starting at 12pm, followed by the sponsored walk at 1.30pm.
Eamonn O’Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s Hospice, said: “We’re looking forward to everyone joining us at what I’m sure will be a fun afternoon for all the family.
“As a charity right in the heart of our local community, events like this are the perfect way for us to meet lots of local people whilst raising money for our patients.
“Every penny raised really will make a difference to their lives, and to the lives of their loved ones too. Thanks in advance to anyone considering coming along.
“Thanks also to Chelsea and Phil for their support and for agreeing to judge the dog show. We’ve had some fantastic animals coming along to Paws in previous years, so I think it will be a ‘ruff’ job picking the best!”
Tickets are £5 per dog – including a ‘doggie’ bag – with humans going free. To find out more or sign up, visit the hospice website or call 0161 7025426.
