Sale Hockey Club ladies have been inspired by the heroics of the GB women’s team in Rio as they played in the English Hockey Fest at The Armitage Centre in south Manchester.
They have been working hard on their pre-season fitness and skills training ready for the new season following their promotion last season.
They endured some tough weather to take the bronze medal beating Oldham on penalty flicks to match their heroines in the Olympics.
The club train at St Bede’s College in Whalley Range on Wednesday evenings and it is agood time to introduce new players from the club’s ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions to ‘real game’ play ready for the coming season.
The Sale teams have also been preparing for the other club strengths such as socialising and preparations are well under way for the Annual Beer Festival taking place on September 16/7 at Sale Sports Club.
