Stockport Business Awards 2016 will be open for entries early next month.
Organiser Ben Poland of Clarke Nicklin chartered accountants told attendees at the SK & Away event at Speedworks Motorsport in Bredbury that businesses ‘of all sizes’ should enter.
He said: “We’ve had a fish and chip shop that employs a handful of people win against a company with a £15bn turnover. So don’t shy away because you think you won’t win! If you know a great business, please encourage them to enter.”
Marketing Stockport director Helen White also spoke at the event and said: “The Stockport Business Awards is a great event and a great way to get free PR.
“Businesses tell us that the mere process of entering the awards and reflecting on your successes is rewarding as it is, winning is the icing on the cake.”
Entry is free via the Stockport Business Awards website and entries open on April 4 and close at the end of May. The full list of categories is yet to be confirmed.
Stockport Business Awards is now in its fifth year. Organised by Clarke Nicklin and sponsored by Gorvins, NatWest and Orbit Developments, the black tie event takes place at Stockport Town Hall on October 13.
