Coronavirus: Museums and libraries close because of pandemic

Stockport Council has closed its museums and libraries in line with government advice on coronavirus.

The following museums are now closed until further notice:

  • Air Raid Shelters
  • Bramall Hall
  • Chadkirk Chapel
  • Hat Works
  • Staircase House
  • Stockport Museum
  • Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery

Stockport Council has a page to update people on the latest coronavirus updates.

Manchester City Council has also announced a number of closures.

No library in the city will open later than 5pm for the foreseeable future and several facilities have closed or are closing completely. These include:

  • Barlow Moor Library
  • Burnage Library
  • Miles Platting
  • Moss Side Powerhouse
  • Northernden Library
  • Fallowfield Library
  • New Moston Community Library
