Didsbury Golf Club’s Lynda Goddard showed her all-round sporting skills as she undertook a tremendous swimming challenge in support of Lady Captain Margaret Lloyd’s chosen charity, Parkinson’s UK.
A keen and active swimmer Lynda set herself the task of completing 70 lengths of the excellent pool at Total Fitness in Altrincham to coincide with her 70th birthday.
Her lengths which varied between crawl and backstroke were recorded by the Margaret and Lynda was given enthusiastic support at the pool by husband Jim and several ladies from Didsbury GC.
Lynda, who reached her target in 45 minutes, said: “I was a little slower than usual- probably due to nerves and I was struggling with a lump in my throat, indigestion and light-headedness but I think that the Lady Captain was very pleased!
“I would like to thank everyone who supported me and sponsored me before and during the challenge.
