First look inside Tusk Heaton Moor

Tusk Heaton Moor has opened for business with the bar on the corner of Heaton Moor Road and Shaw Road replacing Kro Heaton Moor, which closed earlier this month.

The new cocktail bar and restaurant from MAD (Mark Andrew Developments) opened its doors on Saturday with owners describing its new look as having ‘sumptuous foliage and a mix of soft cushioned seating and dining chairs for flexible eating’.

The Tusk website says: “Our new site has been completely transformed with a new Tusk concept, interior and food and drink offering.

“We’ve had a complete refurb and makeover – embracing a colonial yet contemporary feel.

“Our mixologists have been working up a new cocktail menu that will put Tusk Heaton Moor firmly on the bar map – including our famous Zombie and some refreshing twists on much-loved classics like the Garden Margarita and South Manchester Bramble.”

The bar will open from 9am each day and food will include 28-day dry aged sirloin steak and salads, and lighter bites like the smoked tuna carpaccio and toasted sandwiches.

Mark Andrew, Managing Directorate MAD, said: “I’ve lived in the area for 23 years and I’m ecstatic to be bringing our latest venture here.

“We’ve evolved Tusk for Heaton Moor and created a really unique space, which will be the perfect backdrop for enjoying cocktails, music and a casual dining experience.”

“We hope that people think we’ve brought something special to the area,” added Jonathan Hawkins, Director, “and we can’t wait for the local residents to come and check it out.”
