Daniel Myers has won his first senior competition at Reddish Vale Golf Club at the age of 14.

Daniel, who is the son of Reddish Vale professional Andrew Myers, won the four-round Jubilee Trophy by a shot from Ryan Swift to become the first junior ever to win a senior competition at the club.

The four-handicapper posted a nett two-under total of 274, including a 68 in the third round.

“We are very proud of Daniel’s achievement, and I can tell you that he is very pleased indeed,” said Andrew.

“The gross 68 – net 64 – on the third round was the highlight as he went from seven shots back to one in front.

“Thank you for all the support and positive comments that we have received from the members of the club, and I am certain this will spur Daniel on and increase his desire for success.

“Daniel would like to thank his playing partners for their company and support over the four days.”

Ryan Swift won the prize for the best gross score with a 67, while there was a hole-in-one for David Flanagan.
